On 10 March 2017, Parliament passed the Trustees (Amendment) Bill. The Bill introduces amendments to enhance transparency of beneficial ownership and control of express trusts. These amendments aim to deter the abuse of trust structures, so as to strengthen our standing as a highly-respected and trusted international financial hub.
